Prof. Durbha delivered the talk on the topic – “Five Geo-Computational Challenges for Rapid Assessment of Post-Disaster Areas Using Earth Observation (EO) Data“. The talk covered expert insights on highlighting the five important challenges in rapid post-disaster assessment and possible solutions to address them. The quick estimation of area and amount of damage is essential information for successful rescue and reconstruction in disaster areas. The development of automated/semi-automated approaches for the rapid assessment of post-disaster areas is highly challenging. In this regard, it is highly appreciable of the NASA IMPACT Team to recognize this crucial problem and organize this invited talk.
